America's Heroes at Work
A U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) project that focuses on the employment challenges of returning service members living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The project equips employers and the workforce development system with the tools they need to help returning service members affected by TBI and/or PTSD succeed in the workplace - particularly service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Attorney General of Ohio Military/Veterans Affairs- Patriot Program
Free legal assistance is available for Ohio servicemen and servicewomen being called to active duty. The PATRIOT Program is a pro bono program that provides volunteer lawyers and special counsel from the Ohio Attorney General's Office to assist military personnel and their families with various legal issues including exercising their rights under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, formerly known as the Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act (SSCRA) and the Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Act of 1994 (USERRA).

Blinded Veterans Association
Promotes the welfare of blinded veterans so that, notwithstanding their disabilities, they may take their rightful place in the community and work with their fellow citizens toward the creation of a peaceful world.

Blue Star Mothers of America
Mothers who now have, or have had, children serving in the military. They are a non-profit service organization supporting each other and their children while promoting patriotism.

Blind Rehabilitation Services
This service includes adjustment to blindness counseling, patient and family education, benefit analysis, comprehensive residential inpatient training, outpatient rehabilitation services, the provision of assistive technology, and research.

Cancer Program
The VA cancer program ensures that users of the veterans health care system have easy access to consistently high quality cancer prevention, detection, and treatment services. Its Web site offers cancer facts, information about care, a list of VHA designated comprehensive cancer centers, and the VA's national cancer strategy.

Center for Women Veterans
While the Center for Women Veterans is not part of VHA, health care is one of it critical components. The Center's website includes information on Women Veterans' Comprehensive Health Centers, sexual trauma counseling, the VA Mammography Office, and how to apply for benefits.

Disabled American Veterans
With more than 1.2 million members, Disabled American Veterans is an organization of disabled veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and their families. The organization accomplishes this goal by providing free assistance to veterans in obtaining benefits and services earned through their military service. It is fully funded through its membership dues and public contributions. It is not a government agency and receives no government funds.

Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center

National Association for Black Veterans

National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
The center carries out a broad range of multidisciplinary activities in research, education, and training to understand, diagnose, and treat PTSD. Ohio University Veterans Affairs
The office serves as a liaison between Ohio University student veterans and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. They assist student veterans with the processing of VA forms for educational benefits, advise student veterans concerning certain procedural requirements, and certify enrollment of Ohio University student veterans to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Veterans Coalition, The
Five major veteran service organizations have joined to create the Veterans Coalition, Inc., a non-profit corporation. The American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, the AMVETS and the Paralyzed Veterans of America formed the Veterans Coalition to define, research, and study critical issues facing the nation's veterans. To fulfill these objectives, the Coalition is establishing a Commission on the Future for America's Veterans.
